Arsenal's objectives of winning the league are far fetched after a struggle in the premier league in the past two months with their only chance of a trophy this season being the FA CUP, but at the sam time, they have a tough fixture at the FA CUP semi-finals as the face their rivals Manchester City.They were knocked out of the Uefa Champions League after suffering a 10-2 aggregate at Bayern Munich's hands in the round of 16.Their hopes of winning silverware this season are sinking though they still have a chance in the FA Cup.
Arsenal has lost six of their last ten matches in all competitions and won only four, a run that is worse that what had been experienced seven years ago.
Two of the wins have come from non-league participants in the FA cup and a relegation-threatened Hull City in the league.
This winless for of run has seen them drop from the fourth position to the sixth position in the league.
Manchester City, on the other hand, has had their share of poor form in the recent times though they are picking up. They drew 1-1 with Liverpool before the international break in a thrilling match which saw Liverpool outshine them in their style of play and attack.To make it worse, it also seems to be a tall order for Man City to go home with silverware this season though possible with their only hope lying in the FA Cup after being knocked out by Monaco from the Champions League with away goals rule taking effect.This is after they drew 6-6 on aggregate.
Guardiola,s men, have won four lost one and drawn three in their past eight matches.They are currently third in the Premier League twelve points behind leaders Chelsea.
Manchester City has only kept five clean sheets in their last 14 away matches while Arsene Wenger,s men have failed to score only once in their home games this season.
Both teams are struggling defensively thus conceding many goals with Arsenal having conceded three goals in 8 of 13 matches at home this season and Manchester City having conceded ten in fourteen games this season away.
